FC Dynamo Kyiv forward Artem Besedin, who keeps recovering after severe injury he suffered in the Euro-2020 game against Sweden, has told about the rehabilitation process.
- Artem, how’s your recovery going?
- As far as it’s really cold in Kyiv, and considering that I shouldn’t have exercise load under such weather conditions, it was decided I would be training in a warm country for 10 days. Our rehabilitologist was helping me there. My family came to support me.
We did a good job. Everything goes according to the plan. What matters is that my knee reacts to the training process pretty well, I don’t feel unbearable pain. Today I have a day off after which I’ll keep working at our training facility.
- Dynamo doctors say you’re recovering faster than it was expected…
- Of course no matter what doctors say it feels like I’ve been recovering for so long already as I really want to return as soon as possible. But I understand the injury is quite rough, so I must stick to the plan. I should be glad that everything is going fine. Anyway, I must fulfill great amount of work to go to the training camp with the team in a month.
- Is there a chance you’ll be working with the rest of the team at the training camp?
- I should restart the training process gradually and carefully. I guess I won’t be able to work without any restrictions at once. We’ll see what doctors say.
- Will you be thinking of the training process on holidays?
- Sure. It would have been great to go to some warm country again to work on a soft natural field. That’s what I need right now. Tomorrow I’ll start training at our gym. I’ll also try to do some running. We’ll see how the knee reacts to artificial field. As for holidays, I’ll celebrate at home, with my family.
- Who’s been supporting you throughout this tough period?
- All my friends have, but family plays the major role in my recovery. It’s also very important that Mircea Lucescu and coaching staff support me. It’s vital to know coach counts on you. Teammates call and ask how I’m doing too.
