FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu answered journalists’ questions before the Champions League group stage matchday 3 game against FC Barcelona.
- Considering previous results, Barcelona need to win…
- That’s incredible season. Almost all top clubs need victories after two matchdays. Anyway, we need points too.
- What do you think of the situation in Barcelona?
- What’s going on in Barcelona is natural when new team is being built. It’s always easier to preserve a team than to build a new one. It takes time.
Barcelona have a lot of promising youngsters, but they need team results for progress. Of course the club needs experienced performers too. I think Aguero, who has great experience, will help younger players make headway.
I agree with Koeman, who says it’s doubtful that Barcelona can count on much in this Champions League campaign. There’re very strong teams in this competition. He risks using young players. I can just wish Barcelona fans to be patient.
- Can Ansu Fati be the leader of this team?
- It’s all in his hands. That’s not easy as one always is under pressure in such big clubs. He must deal with this pressure.
- Who can replace Ronald Koeman?
- Koeman is currently going through the toughest period in coaching career. Young players replace experienced ones and he needs to build a new team, to be patient. At the moment, I don’t think another coach can do better than Koeman.
