Dynamo needed to win in Istanbul to qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage which was a really complicated task considering the first leg outcome and Besiktas capabilities at the transfer market.
The scenario was quite predictable – Besiktas attacked aiming to score an early opener while Kyivans tried to calm things down and looked for a chance in counterattacks. Basically the White-Blues didn’t let the home side create a lot of opportunities.
The toughest period was minutes 17-19 as Muleka had two chances and even hit the post.
Dynamo managed to regain possession and made opponents foul, but unfortunately that didn’t benefit attacking efforts.
Nothing really changed after the break. Home side put a few dangerous crosses into the penalty area, but with no shots.
In the 51st minute Dynamo had 2 vs 1 opportunity, but didn’t even manage to finish it off with a strike while afterwards Aboubakar demonstrated his individual skills and scored the only goal of the game.
Dynamo tried to change situation using substitutions, but that wasn’t really effective. Thus Besiktas qualify for the Europa Conference League group stage.
