Dynamo U19 midfielder Bohdan Redushko shared his expectations ahead of the first match of the 3rd round of the UEFA Youth League “Champions Path” against Hibernian U19:
– After arriving to Stalowa Wola Dynamo already held a training session. What is the team’s mood? How are you feeling?
– The mood is good, we are ready for the match. I think the team is prepared. We trained – the weather wasn’t great, it was very cold. But that won’t stop us and we will play as usual.
– Since it snowed you had to train on an artificial pitch but the match against Hibernian will be played on natural grass. Could that cause difficulties?
– We were supposed to train on grass but couldn’t because of the snow. We still had to train and the only available field was artificial. We tried to avoid tackles, played with clean balls to prevent injuries. I think if they clear the pitch, we’ll train on grass. If not we’ll continue preparing on the artificial field.
– Recently you were with the Ukraine U19 national team and scored in two matches. How much did those games inspire you on the international stage? Are you ready to score in the next match and repeat last season’s UEFA Youth League success?
– I’m even more motivated than last year because after the suspension I have to deliver results and at least give my best. I did my job with the national team. It’s good that I scored and that we progressed further.
– What can you say about your upcoming opponent – Hibernian?
– Back in Kyiv we watched some theory. Hibernian are a good team, physically strong. We studied their tactics, will watch more and analyze them further.
– What is the team’s strategy for the two-legged tie?
– We are not counting on a penalty shootout. We are counting only on winning. We’ll try to win tomorrow because it would give psychological relief before traveling to Scotland. We will play only to win.
