Left-back Denys Dykyi commented on his debut for Dynamo’s first team in the Ukrainian Cup match against Vinnytsia’s Nyva and shared his emotions after the away victory.
- Congratulations on your winning debut. Share your emotions – how did you like the game, how did the team support you?
- I’m very happy to have made my debut for such a club. Dynamo Kyiv is a great club with a history. When I came on from the first minutes, I was a little nervous. But at the same time, I also understood that I had no other choice but to work and prove myself. I’m very happy, and congratulations to the team on the victory.
- Was it difficult to deal with these emotions? Or did they literally disappear in the first few minutes after you came onto the pitch? Because from your performance, it was clear that you were fired up today to prove yourself and fight for every ball.
- Of course, I was nervous. A lot of people came, and it’s very nice to play when the stands are full. But when the final whistle sounded, I already realized that everything was over, the nerves had gone – and everything was fine.
- After the final whistle, a lot of people were taking photos. Do you feel this difference between senior and youth football? After so many people approach you, do you already feel a certain level of popularity?
- Honestly, it’s very nice when you’re walking and people are shouting your surname, asking for autographs and photos. It’s very pleasant. Of course, there is a difference, and you have to work harder and strive for this.
- Regarding your substitution. You were substituted towards the end of the match. Did you ask to be substituted yourself, or did the coaching staff decide to freshen things up?
- The head coach asked how my legs were. I was getting some cramps in my legs, and the pitch was quite difficult. So I said that I needed to be substituted so that there wouldn’t be any problems later or anything else.
