FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Denys Popov has told about first days of the training camp in Turkey.
- How is the start of the training camp?
- It’s quite intense as it usually is at first.
- How do you maintain your diet at the training camp?
- Basically I eat what they offer us. Nothing special. I don’t count calories.
- What does your diet mostly include?
- Meat, vegetables, some carbohydrates – macaroni, pasta.
- Is the percentage of proteins high in your diet?
- I guess it is . I also drink vitamin mixes, minerals.
- How important is the sleep at the training camp?
- You should ask doctors that. Of course it’s important to stick to the daily routine.
- Is it important to you how much you sleep?
- Usually I fall asleep at about 11 p. m. and wake up at 8 a. m.
- You’re going to play ten friendlies at the training camp. Is it easier to get ready for the season this way?
- Training sessions are also important as we need to recondition after long vacation. Of course we want to play as well. We’ve got decent opponents, so we can get ready for the second part of the season properly.
- Is the training process different under the charge of Olexandr Shovkovskyi?
- It’s changing gradually, but first days of the training camp are mostly about running and reconditioning. Then we’ll be practicing different combinations.
- Serhiy Fedorov has joined the coaching staff. He’ll focus on work with defenders. What kind of advice does he give?
- We used to work together in youth teams. Having significant experience, he tells us a lot. We’ll see how it goes. I’m sure it will be a fruitful work for us, defenders.
