Dynamo – Kryvbas – 3:1: post-match press conference of Oleksandr Shovkovskyi

FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi answered journalists’ questions after the UPL matchday 29 game against FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih (3:1).

- Congratulations to our supporters. I want to thank our defenders for the chance to play football. We all want them to be back soon with Victory.

What is asked the guys for is to be professionals and get ready for the match properly. We knew the game would be tough although Kryvbas didn’t have any tournament goals just like us. Our games are always quite intense and interesting.

- You did and experiment in the first half as you used three center backs. Was the experiment a success?

- When you don’t have any competition goals, you can do some experiments. Many teams use this formation. Some aspects weren’t the way we wanted, so after the break we got back to our traditional formation. But anyway I think this first half will give us certain options for the future.

- Yarmolenko was hit a few times in the first half. Is he okay?

- Such episodes happen in football. I hope he’s fine. We waited till the end of the first half as we hoped he would feel better, but unfortunately he was hit quite hard. After the game Andrii said he’s all right. Brazhko was also hit roughly, but I guess he’ll be okay in a couple of days.

- You’re to play another game – against Rukh – which doesn’t mean anything in terms of the league competition. Are you going to risk your internationals?

- After the game against Shakhtar I talked to the national team gaffer. We agreed that players will do their best on the field after which we’ll give them a break. They’ll have about a week to have rest.

- Dynamo are to play in the Champions League qualification next season. Are you going to enforce the team? There’s a lot of rumors...

- There’s going to be a lot of rumors about potential transfers as agents are working. We have certain plans and we want to get enforced. We’ll see if we can do it.

- Do you count on Anton Tsarenko, who hasn’t had much game practice lately?

- Unfortunately Anton suffered an injury that didn’t let him work with the team. We had a title race and couldn’t use a player, who’s not ready to do his best. We count on him just like we count on all other players. Everyone must be ready to take the field.
