On Thursday, January 16, FC Dynamo Kyiv played another friendly at the training camp in Turkey – against the Slovenian side NK Maribor.
This was the first game of the day for Dynamo. The second one will be against SCKA 1948 Sofia.
The match was quite intense as for this stage of pre-season period. Kyivans scored in the 4th minute after defender’s mistake, but the goal was disallowed due to offside.
Braharu had a chance in the 13th minute after cross by Karavayev, but his shot was blocked.
Maribor responded in the 21st minute, but Morhun demonstrated great reaction by parrying the shot from 12 meters.
In the 24th minute referee awarded penalty for Dynamo as defender fouled against Pikhalionok, but Andriy Yarmolenko didn’t score from the spot.
Slovenians responded in a minute as Mbina didn’t score in one-on-one situation by sending the ball over the bar.
The score was opened in the 31st minute. Dubinchak passed into the penalty area, Guerrero got the ball and hit the target from a tight angle.
Dynamo continued attacking and doubled the score in the 37th minute. Yarmolenko found Braharu, who netted the ball accurately.
Both sides had chances after that, but the first half ended 2:0 for the White-Blues.
Maribor tried to come back after the break. Tette had a great opportunity in the 54th minute as attempted with a header from inside the box, but goalkeeper grabbed the ball.
In the 67 minute Yarmolenko created a chance for Pikhalionok with another quality pass, but defender blocked the shot.
Slovenians maintained possession pretty well, but didn’t create much. Dynamo responded with interesting counterattacks. Karavayev had a great opportunity after corner, but missed.
Maribor had their best chance in the 89th minute, but Ihnatenko did a great job and save the shot from close range.
