FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu has summarized the defeat against Stade Rennais FC in the Europa League group stage matchday 4 game (1:0):
- Why is there so little danger in Dynamo attacks? How can you fix this?
- We played against a very good team that did a great job at the transfer market. They have about 15 players that cost 20-25 million. I’m almost sure they’ll finish second in the Ligue 1 this season.
One should take into account all the problems we face and a huge amount of time we spend on the road. We lack sharpness, fitness and concentration which results in mistakes.
- After four defeats Dynamo still have a chance to qualify for the Conference League. Does that motivate the team?
- I knew things would be tough for us. We travel all the time, besides some players are injured including Shaparenko we really need in the midfield. Mykola knows how to move the ball forward. Syrota played a good game, but made a mistake. That happens.
We’ve suffered four defats, but we oppose such teams as Rennais and Fenerbahce, who’ve spent a lot of money in the transfer market. They’ve signed fast and skillful performers.
As for AEK, they’re decent team too with good players, who used to feature in Spain, Italy etc. They’re very experienced.
- What do you think of Neshcheret? Obviously this game was important for him.
- He did a great job. Ruslan is a smart guy. He’s totally fulfilled what I asked him to.
- You had a huge support at the stadium today. What would you like to tell fans?
- I want to thank our supporters a lot. There were more of them than Rennais’ fans, but still not so many as Rennais or Fenerbahce have at home grounds. Of course we want to have more supporters as that’s what players lack. Fans are additional motivation for our guys. Today players did the best they could.
