On Sunday, June 15, Ukraine U21 played their second game at the Euro-2025 (U21) in Slovakia.
As you know, Unai Melgosa’s men suffered narrow defeat against Denmark in the first match (2:3) while Finland drew against Netherlands (2:2).
Six FC Dynamo Kyiv players were in Ukraine starting lineup – goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret, defenders Taras Mykhavko and Kostiantyn Vivcharenko, halfbacks Volodymyr Brazhko (captain) and Maksym Braharu, forward Vladyslav Vanat. Two more Kyivans took the field in the second half – Nazar Voloshyn and Valentyn Rubchynskyi.
Ukrainians took the ball under control right away and converted that into goal in the 28th minute. Goalkeeper parried the strike by Vanat from inside the box, but Vladyslav was there with a follow-up – 0:1.
Right after the break Ukraine increased their lead. Veleten put a cross from the left side, goalkeeper and defender didn’t let each other clear the ball and Braharu hit the open goal – 0:2.
The only upsetting episode happened in a stoppage time as Brazhko got his second booking and was sent off. Thus he’ll skip the game against Netherlands on June 18.
