Dynamo head coach Ihor Kostiuk commented on the match against Veres in an interview with UPL TV.
– Ihor Volodymyrovych, what did your team fail to do today in order to play this match more calmly?
– There were many unnecessary losses of the ball, especially in the first half, when the team did not have time to reorganize, and the opponent launched counterattacks. These mistakes are haunting us again, it is the quality of execution, and we will work on it.
Of course, we wanted to win, we created chances, there were quite a few opportunities, but we did not convert them. Still, we earned three points. The game is forgotten, but the result remains.
– You are now entering a schedule of two matches a week. How much does this affect the team’s preparation for the match? What changes in the coaching approach?
– Of course, recovery and preparation for the game. We need to recover the team and prepare for the match, analyze the opponent, analyze our actions in previous matches. You saw that today there was a lot of rotation, we gave more playing time to those players who did not play in Lublin. Today they were fresher. But I emphasize once again that there were many unnecessary losses of the ball in today’s match.
– What is the condition of the left-backs Kostiantyn Vivcharenko and Vladyslav Dubinchak? And how did you like Oleksandr Tymchyk’s performance in this position?
– He scored today. Oleksandr plays a lot in attack, although it is not very convenient for him to play on the left flank. But he scored a goal, made a few mistakes with his passes, but played more reliably today.
As for Dubinchak, we gave him a rest because he has a minor injury. Vivcharenko is still recovering so we cannot count on him at the moment.
– How would you assess Pierre Mounguengue’s debut in the starting lineup?
– He is still getting used to our requirements, he does not yet fully understand how he should reorganize. But he has the desire, and confidence is gradually appearing. Today he did not create much danger, but I believe it was a good experience for his first game. As for understanding the structure, he still needs to improve.
– For the fourth consecutive match, different pairs of central defenders have started. Is this rotation or a search for the ideal partnership?
– Rotation. Taras Mykhavko and Tomasz Kędziora played the match in Lublin, and today we decided to field the Thiare-Bilovar pair.
