Ihor Surkis: “We mustn’t be afraid as we face Bayern”

FC Dynamo Kyiv president Ihor Surkis has shared his impressions of the game against Chornomorets and expectations of the Champions League match against Bayern Munich.

- Why did you let loanees play?

- Otherwise Chornomorets wouldn’t have enough players. Today those guys saw how they should perform. They must show what they’re capable of to feature for Dynamo. Anyway, it was our head coach, who let them play.

- Did you like any loanee’s football today?

- It’s hard to pick someone when the score is like this. Skorko was doing well at first, but then got nervous. I guess centre backs could have done better.

- What’s Harmash phenomenon about?

- I often ask myself this question. Is this about experience, skills or luck? He takes the field and scores right away. I hope he’ll keep this up. Sometimes Denys can’t cope with his emotions, but when he’s calm, he’s doing great.

- Were you surprised when it took officials five minutes to make sure they should award penalty?

- I’ve never seen that kind of nonsense, especially when the score is like this. Let’s be honest. Our football is a circus. If it takes them five minutes to deal with a penalty… Well, you’d better just cancel it.

- Kulach has scored his first goal for Dynamo. Will he find a place in your club?

- First of all I’m very happy for him as he had health issues for quite a while. He’s a very hardworking guy. He’s always doing his best.

- What do you expect of the game against probably the best team in the world?

- We shouldn’t look for excuses. We must take the field and fight. Our players aim to the West. Well, they should prove in such games they deserve featuring in top leagues. We mustn’t be afraid of anyone. Besides, we should avoid childish mistakes we made in Munich. We still have a small chance to feature in euro cups in spring.
