On Saturday, July 13, FC Dynamo Kyiv played their second friendly at the pre-season training camp. The White-Blues faced seven-time Bundesliga winners FC Schalke 04.
Both sides started the game quite actively. Early in the match Younes attempted from distance, but Bushchan parried, while Mohr hit the post with a follow-up.
Dynamo responded effectively. Tymchyk put a cross from the right side and Tsarenko sent it in – 1:0.
In a few minutes Dynamo hit the net again as Buialskyi took a free kick, but referee disallowed this one as Kyivans allegedly messed it with the wall.
Then Yarmolenko sent Tymchyk one-on-one with the keeper, but the right back didn’t make it. Later, in the 30th minute, Schalke equalized. Karaman headed the ball in after free kick cross – 1:1.
Both sides continued exchanging chances. Tymchyk had another chance, but keeper parried his strike from outside the box. German side took a dangerous free kick, but the ball went over the bar.
Dynamo made two substitutions after the break and Neshcheret who replaced Bushchan didn’t cope with the strike by Sylla – 1:2.
Halfway through the second half Dynamo refreshed the lineup significantly and equalized in a couple of minutes. Vanat obtained the ball in front of the box and hit the far corner – 2:2.
Pikhalionok had a chance to put Kyiv side in front afterwards, but missed from close range after cross from the left side.
