Friendly Match. Dynamo – Slavia – 1:1. Match report

On Saturday, June 20, Dynamo Kyiv played their first friendly match of the summer training camp in Austria. Ihor Kostiuk’s side faced the reigning Czech champions, Slavia Prague.

Dynamo’s opponents opened the scoring in the early stages of the match. The goal came from a set-piece situation, as Labík delivered a free-kick deep into the White-Blues’ penalty area, where Píkolon was first to the ball and converted his chance.

After Slavia’s goal, both teams exchanged attacking moves, but neither side managed to create any truly dangerous opportunities. Despite being a friendly match, the players fought hard for every ball across the pitch, forcing the referee to stop play on numerous occasions.

Another Slavia free-kick nearly resulted in a goal. Konečný came close to meeting a teammate’s knockdown but was unable to get a shot away. Dynamo responded immediately with an attack of their own. Pikhalonok delivered an excellent through ball to Ogundana, whose low cross into the box for Guerrero was intercepted by a defender.

In the 34th minute, Dynamo came close to equalising. Pikhalonok found space and sent in a cross from the flank toward Ogundana, but the winger was unable to direct his effort on target from close range. It was the most dangerous opportunity for either side following the cooling break midway through the first half.

In the second half, the coaching staffs of both Dynamo and Slavia made almost complete changes to their line-ups in order to give as many players as possible valuable playing time.

At the start of the second period, the initiative returned to the Red-Whites. Olkhovyi was forced into an important save after a close-range effort from Kohout. Slavia also had another good chance through Isife, who found himself in a promising position but failed to hit the target. Meanwhile, Dynamo struggled to create opportunities near the opposition goal as frequently as they had before the break.

Despite a difficult spell, the Kyiv side managed to equalise in the 86th minute. Rubchynskyi produced an exquisite pass to send Voloshyn through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and the forward calmly finished to score. Voloshyn’s goal secured the final result of the friendly between Dynamo and Slavia – a 1:1 draw.

Dynamo’s next friendly match during the summer training camp will take place on June 24 against Slovak side Žilina.
