On February 17, FC Dynamo Kyiv played another friendly at the third winter training camp in Turkey. The White-Blues faced the Latvian side Valmiera F.
Unlike previous matches, this game wasn’t reach on scoring chances. Valmiera applied pressure which made Kyivans maintain possession mostly in defensive half. They didn’t increase the speed a lot and bothered opponents’ goalkeeper only a couple of times.
At first Matrevics coped with the shot by Harmash. Then Buialskyi had a great opportunity after cross by de Pena, but keeper did a great job again.
Halfway through the first half Latvian team started responding with sharp attacks, so Heorhiy Bushchan had work to do. He saved Dynamo after strike by Yokota from the box line. Then Silagadze hit the bar.
Latter Tsyhankov attempted with one-touch shot after cross by Dubinchak, but Matrevics didn’t let the White-Blues open the score again.
Right after the first half, Mircea Lucescu made two substitutions: Vitinho and Andriyevskyi replaced de Pena and Harmash. In the 67th minute Buialskyi put a cross into the penalty area from the right side and Vitinho headed the ball in – 1:0.
Just like before the break, Valmiera had some counterattacks, but those weren’t really dangerous. Fall attempted into the far corner, but missed.
Late in the game, Zhelizko fouled against Buialskyi inside the box and referee awarded penalty for Dynamo. Andriyevskyi converted from the spot – 2:0
