Dynamo Kyiv defender Kostiantyn Vivcharenko shared his thoughts with Football Hub after the team’s convincing 5:0 away victory over Oleksandriya.
— Judging by the early goal win didn’t seem too difficult. A question about set pieces: you struck the ball first-time in one episode. Was that due to the pitch conditions as Ihor Kostiuk mentioned the ball would bounce?
— Set pieces are something we work on in training. Everyone knew their zones and responsibilities - and that helped us score.
— Also about set pieces - we often see Maciej Kędziorek coming to the touchline with notes, giving instructions. You even ran over to him today. Does he constantly give individual instructions during matches?
— Yes, Maciej always gives instructions during corners or set pieces. He’s constantly directing players - “you go there,” “you go there.” Everything is clear. And he already understands Ukrainian quite well even if he speaks a bit of mixed language (smiles).
— The team is in great form - winning games and conceding very few goals. With the international break coming up is it important to rest both physically and mentally before even tougher matches ahead?
— Of course, there are difficult matches ahead. Now it’s time for the national team games - we’ll support Ukraine and hope they qualify for the World Cup. For us it’s a short break and then we’ll continue working in our weekly cycle. We’ll keep training to maintain clean sheets at the back and keep scoring goals up front.
— Today Neshcheret often distributed the ball to the flanks - to Tymchyk and to you. At one point the coach shouted not to send long balls. Did the pitch make things more difficult?
— The pitch wasn’t in the best condition but I think it was still playable. It was harder to play one-touch football, of course. As for what the coach shouted - I didn’t hear it (smiles). But Ruslan had a very good game with his feet today.
