FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi answered media questions after the Champions League second qualifying round second leg against FK Partizan Belgrade (3:0):
- Congrats to all our fans. We’ve made a very important step, but haven’t reached our goal so far. This is a bitter victory as one of our players suffered really serious injury and I guess he’ll be out for quite a while. My heart is set on this kind of situation as I have fatherly attitude to my players. We don’t know the detail yet, but we’re with him.
- What happened to Volodymyr Brazhko? Why didn’t he play?
- Unfortunately there was a little accident yesterday and he got a cut. He got some stitches and we had to adjust the lineup. It’s not a big deal, Volodymyr was ready to play, but we didn’t want any complications.
- What are your impressions of Serbia? How’re you feeling here?
- We were greeted really well, there were no problems. Actually the President of Ukraine thanked your country and people for support in the difficult situation we’re going through.
- Are you satisfied with the way the team got ready for the season?
- As a coach I see a room for improvement. We’ll be always striving for that. If I’m completely satisfied I should finish my coaching career that has just started. But generally I like the understanding and attitude of players, their internal motivation and the team we’re building. That inspires to work on and set ambitious goals.
As for the readiness of the team, well, if shortly before the time one lateral assists and another one scores, this means that physically the team is ready.
