On Thursday, October 3, FC Dynamo Kyiv played the Europa League matchday 2 game. The White-Blues faced TSG 1899 Hoffenheim at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
The home side started the match more aggressively, but Kyivans created the first scoring opportunity. Brazhko attempted from distance and goalkeeper Baumann parried. Hoffenheim responded with a dangerous strike from Kramaric, but the ball went a bit wide.
Anyway German side totally used their following chance. Gendrey obtained the ball in the right side, put a low cross into the box and Adam Hlozek scored – 1:0. Hoffenheim could increase their lead right away, but Bushchan saved Dynamo. Visitors got more active later in the first half, but didn’t manage to score.
Early in the second half Kyivans continued attacking, but Hoffenheim didn’t really let them create much danger. And then Home side had a fast counterattack what resulted in accurate strike from Hlozek – 2:0.
Shaparenko attempted from distance, but missed. Kabayev crossed from the left side, but Voloshyn didn’t reach the ball.
So, it’s 0:2 – Dynamo lose their second Europa League main stage game.
Kyivans will play their next game on October 6 – against Kryvbas at the home ground.
