Dynamo Kyiv forward Matvii Ponomarenko scored twice in the away match of the 11th round of the National U19 League against Shakhtar Donetsk (2:3).
With these goals Dynamo player increased his total number of goals in the tournament to 46 (including 6 scored for Zorya Luhansk where he played on loan during the 2022/2023 season). This allowed him to surpass his former teammate Dmytrii Kremchanin, who had 45 goals, and become the all-time top scorer in the history of the U19 Championship / National U19 League.
It is worth noting that this is already Ponomarenko’s fourth season in the youth competition. Over this period he has played 77 matches in total (24 for Zorya, 53 for Dynamo).
