FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Mykyta Burda has commented upon the friendly against Real Murcia (3:1):
- I really enjoy working as I missed this so much, even though the exercise load is intense.
- Did you feel fans’ support when recovering?
- At first many people were texting me, but gradually the number of messages decreased. But that’s okay. Everyone’s career is different. Mine is this way. I always value the fact that I play for such a club as Dynamo, work with great teammates and wise coach. Considering my injuries, now I value that even more. I’m very thankful to people, who were supporting me as this was a really tough period. I’m ready to do my best on the field.
- What have Dynamo improved at the first training camp? What should you still work on?
- Coaches point our mistakes out. That’s what we have training camps for. Mistakes are natural here, but may they stay at the training camp. As for our progress, it’s too soon to tell. So far we’re mostly working on fitness.
- Mircea Lucescu focuses extensively on switching from defense to attack. Do you need to recollect that, considering that you’ve missed a lot?
- Sure, I learn a lot. Other guys know all that really well. Actually there’s a lot of new stuff. I listen to everything wide-eyed.
- What does Lucescu want you to be able to do?
- Defender must be able to start attacks. Even when opponents apply pressure, you need to cope with that through passing, not just to kick the ball forward. And, of course, one should defend orderly.
- Have Real Murcia surprised you, considering that they’ve caused Dynamo a lot of troubles?
- That’s true. Even Segunda teams play decent football, maintain possession. Players are very skillful, so we had tough time today.
- Would you have been upset if Dynamo didn’t win today?
- We always aim to win, no matter what kind of games this is. It’s easier to work after you win. It’s great guys scored twice in the second half.
- Was wind a problem?
- Of course it’s always better when the weather is perfect, but both sides were on equal footing.
- Does the presence of Ukrainian fans encourage you?
- Sure. Even though we’re far from home, people come to support us. It’s great Dynamo have fans all over the world.
