Dynamo defender Oleksandr Karavaiev commented on the Matchday 26 Ukrainian Premier League game against Shakhtar (1:2) on UPL TV.
– How would you assess today’s match?
– Dynamo and Shakhtar showed a real battle. We couldn’t hold on to our advantage, although at 1:2 we had many chances, especially from set pieces. It’s disappointing that when we’re behind, we push hard and give everything, but still don’t get the final result.
– How difficult was it to play against Shakhtar’s attacking line?
– They are highly skilled players, Conference League semi-finalists. When facing them, you need full concentration for all 90 minutes because they can take advantage of any moment. We tried to contain them but we fell a bit short.
– Is it even more painful to lose mathematical chances for the title in a match against Shakhtar?
– It’s very disappointing to lose our chances for the title with four rounds left in the season. But we actually lost the title race earlier because we dropped points where we shouldn’t have. We are to blame for that ourselves so we need to get back to our level.
