Oleksandr Pikhalionok: “We wanted to go on vacation having a gap from our opponents”

FC Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Oleksandr Pikhalionok, who’s recovered from injury, has commented upon the win against FC Veres Rivne (1:0):

- It feels great to be back to the squad. My recovery took quite a while. This was my first starting lineup appearance in two months and a half. Fortunately we won.

- Oleksandr Shovkovskyi said today’s goal was unexpected even for him. Did you practice that?

 - Actually we didn’t. Buialskyi, Vanat, Voloshyn and I just decided to play it that way. Now we think we should draw together like this more often and come up with something(smiling). The goal was really good.

- Did the weather impact the game a lot?

- The wind was more of a problem. It was difficult to calculate the ball trajectory. The slippery field was an issue as well. Veres caused us a lot of troubles today, but we really wanted to go on vacation having a gap from our opponents and in a good mood.

- You beat Veres in the first round by one goal as well – 2:1. Are Veres really so unyielding?

- They are. They grabbed points against Shakhtar and Oleksandria. It’s always difficult to oppose them, but we were ready.

- What mark can you give yourself and the team for the first part of the season?

- Speaking about the UPL – 10. As for the euro cups – no mark. We’ve got zero points. There’s nothing to estimate here.

- Did you expect finishing the first part of the season being ten points in front of the reigning champions?

- Actually we didn’t, but this is just the beginning. When I was in Dnipro-1, we were also in front. Everything is always settled in the second round.

- What are your plans for the winter vacation?

- I’ll be in Kyiv with my family, but I know some guys are going to Lviv or Bukovel.
