Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Oleksandr Pikhalonok commented to the club’s YouTube channel on the goalless draw in Matchday 27 of the Ukrainian Premier League against LNZ Cherkasy:
– Today we lacked a goal. LNZ played in their usual style with a low block in a 5-3-2 formation but despite that they also had their own chances. It ended in a goalless draw though both teams could have scored today.
– LNZ are one of the league leaders in terms of intensity on the pitch. Was today’s match the most physically demanding game of the season?
– We have had tougher matches during the season. The bigger challenge was breaking down their defense, which is why we didn’t create many chances, but we still had to convert opportunities we did have.
– Toward the end of the match both teams played more openly and exchanged attacks actively but the game still ended without goals. Was finishing the decisive factor or were there other circumstances that prevented the team from scoring?
– I think it really came down to finishing. Against a team like LNZ you won’t get many chances so you have to take advantage of them. Unfortunately we weren’t able to do that today.
