Dynamo Kyiv full-back Oleksii Sych spoke about how he spent the weekend and about the preparation for the team’s upcoming official matches in the Ukrainian championship.
- After the game against Kolos team were given three days off. Did you manage to take a break from football?
- Yes, I did. All the guys, just like me, had some rest. During these days, I went to see my family, moved my belongings, and have now completely moved to Kyiv. So now we are directly preparing for the match.
- Today you spent about half an hour working in the gym, then moved onto the pitch. Was it more of an introductory training session?
- Yes, today was more of an introductory session, because three days is a lot of time to rest, and we need to get moving well so as not to get injured. The gym session helped us with this; we warmed up well. It was a good introductory training session, without entering too abruptly, so to speak.
- Next comes a cycle of two training sessions a day – on the pitch and in the gym. The next game is against Bukovyna. If you look at the standings, Bukovyna have scored zero goals, but they have created quite a few chances and simply have not had things go their way. Should we be wary of the fact that perhaps this football luck could turn around in the match against Dynamo? And what did not go in during these three matches could simply go in due to luck?
- Of course, we would not want that, but they are a good team, and we cannot underestimate them. We need to prepare thoroughly not only for Bukovyna, but for every opponent, and only for victory. We are Dynamo Kyiv, we have to win.
- Then there will be a cycle of home matches, three in a row – with Zorya, although nominally an away game, it will be played at Dynamo’s club stadium. Then there will be the international break. Could the fact that the team will constantly be in Kyiv until the break for international matches have a positive impact on the results and the game?
- I think so, because we are already preparing at home. The pitch is excellent, the gym – all the conditions are there for us to move forward and progress. So it will definitely be easier at home.
