Dynamo’s upcoming opponent in the main stage of the UEFA Conference League, Cypriot side Omonia, played another match in the national championship.
In the 11th round the Nicosia team traveled to Kolossi to face Apollon. In the first half visitors coached by former Manchester United player Henning Berg conceded in the 18th minute after a precise strike from Harry Rodrigues. Shortly after the restart hosts were reduced to ten men when their forward Clinton Duodu received two yellow cards within four minutes. However, despite having territorial and playing advantage, visitors not only failed to rescue the match but also conceded a second goal scored by Apollon defender Josef Kvida.
Omonia played this match with the following lineup: Fabiano, Semedo, Agouzoul, Evandro, Jovetić, Kusulos (Mmae, 64), Kitsos (Andreou, 77), Marić (Hatzjioannis, 46), Masouras (Hammas, 77), Panayiotou, Tanković.
This result ended Omonia’s unbeaten run across all competitions which lasted seven matches. After this round the Nicosia side lost their place at the top of the table, having 23 points after 11 matches and now trailing familiar rivals Pafos by two points.
