Press conference of FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu after the game against FC Barcelona.
- You never liked VAR. Did you change your mind after this game?
- I didn’t. Mistakes are part of football. Players and referees make them. I think football would have been better without VAR.
- Dynamo haven’t scored a single goal in the Champions League. What are you going to do to change that?
- Unfortunately we did use our chances, but we had scoring opportunities.
We’ve got very tough group with three teams better than us. We try to reach their level, work and make headway. Here we don’t score goals we score in domestic league, but I believe there’s progress.
I think we deserved at least a draw today. We did well against such great team as Barcelona. We were more confident than in previous games.
- Did your team change comparing with the game at the Camp Nou?
- In away game we lacked courage and confidence, but we defended properly. That’s a positive aspect. There were issues when we were in possession.
Chances Barcelona created in the first game were about our insecurity. We were losing possession in defensive half. Today we did much better. Young defenders Syrota and Zabarnyi started our attacks. I see progress in that. I see that players gain experience and get more confident. I’m sure we’ll have a good game against Bayern too although I’m not sure we’ll win.
