Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret shared his thoughts with UPL TV following the team’s 5:0 away victory over Oleksandriya in Matchday 21 of the Ukrainian Premier League.
— Your team won 5:0. How did the match look from your position as a goalkeeper? Was it difficult or not? Did Oleksandriya’s attack cause you any problems?
— It was a tough game mainly because of the difficult pitch. We didn’t have the level of control we wanted. But I think the team worked really well today to achieve this victory. At the same time I wouldn’t say it was easy.
— In the first round the match at your home stadium ended in a 2:2 draw. Did you think about that game beforehand to avoid repeating the same mistakes?
— No, we didn’t focus on that match anymore. Instead we analyzed our more recent games, drew conclusions from how we conceded goals and prepared specifically for this one. We’re very happy to have won.
— What emotions does a player feel after receiving their first call-up to the Ukraine national team?
— Only positive ones. I had double motivation today - first to win and also to keep a clean sheet. That makes it twice as nice. For me it’s like for a little kid who’s just starting to play football - being called up to the national team is a huge achievement. I’m very happy and at the same time it gives me even more motivation to keep working on myself.
