Six Dynamo players feature for Ukraine against Finland

On October 9, Ukraine national team played the sixth 2022 World Cup qualifier. The Yellow-Blues faced Finland in Helsinki.

Visitors opened the score in the 4th minute. Andriy Yarmolenko received the pass from Roman Yaremchuk and hit the far corner with his right.

Home side came around quite quickly and rushed forward. 29 minutes into the match, their pressure resulted in equalizer. Andriy Piatov parried the header by Pohjanpalo after cross from the corner flag, Mykola Matviyenko tried to clear the ball, but hit Pukki – 1:1.

Still it took Olexandr Petrakov’s men only five minutes to take the lead again. Olexandr Tymchyk put a low cross from the right side, Viktor Tsyhankov continued to Yaremchuk and Roman scored.

Yaremchuk, Tsyhankov and Yarmolenko attempted early in the second half, but their shots went wide. Finland responded with the strike of Pukki, blocked by Kryvtsov.

Home side overtook the initiative late in the game and had a great chance to equalize, but Arajuuri missed for a wonder after Piatov parried the free kick. So, Ukraine win and look forward to the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina that takes place on October 12 in Lviv.

Six FC Dynamo Kyiv representatives took part in the game against Finland – Olexandr Tymchyk, Illia Zabarnyi, Mykola Shaparenko, Viktor Tsyhankov, Serhiy Sydorchuk and Serhiy Buletsa (on loan at FC Zoria Luhansk).
