FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Tomasz Kedziora has told about the first winter training camp in Spain:
- This is our fourth day in Spain. We also worked in Kyiv for a few days and individually when on vacation. Of course it’s tough here, but that’s natural. We must go through this to do well in the second part of the season.
- Is it hard to have two sessions a day?
- It is, but that’s okay. We are in for two more training camps, but time runs fast as we’re busy working.
- Is the first training camp mostly about work on fitness?
- Yes, we work a lot at the gym with our physical trainer Vitaliy Kulyba to avoid injuries throughout the season and to be stronger.
- Do you have additional individual work?
- I do. I work with my coach from Poland. We communicate online. I always work with him when on vacation.
- Does it help you on the field?
- It does as football has changed a lot. You must by physically stronger than your opponents. Everyone lays emphasis on that.
- Defenders work separately with Mircea Lucescu sometimes. What does he tell you?
- We work on mistakes we were making in the first part of the season. Coach tells us a lot about the way we should play. Besides, we focus on switching from defense to attack, on pressure avoidance. This is very important.
- Have you made a step forward since Lucescu took charge of the team?
- I think each player, including myself, makes headway under the charge of Lucescu. I’ve got more experienced, so I feel comfortable on the field.
- Are you looking forward to friendlies?
- Sure, that starts tomorrow. I guess we’ll play a lot of friendlies at these three training camps.
- Do you like the training ground and the hotel?
- Everything is great, I’m speechless.
