Dynamo U19 coach Vadym Milko commented on the 0:3 defeat to Rangers in the second leg of the second round of the UEFA Youth League Champions Path play-offs.
– The emotions are, of course, negative. We lost, and deservedly so. I think Rangers were the stronger team today. I told my players that each of them needs to reflect on what happened. I always say that I am responsible for the result, while they are responsible for their performances. And they have to take responsibility for today's performance.
– What exactly did not work for the team today, preventing you from avoiding such a result?
– You know, Rangers were half a step quicker than us everywhere today. We lost practically all the loose balls. We had agreed on one thing, but then the players go out onto the pitch and, somehow, lose their concentration and forget what we had discussed. To be honest, I didn't recognise my team today, or any of the players.
– Towards the end of the match, Dynamo created several very good chances. Did you have a feeling that we could score and turn the game around?
– I always believe in them, right until the final minute. But Hrodzinsky hit the post, and there were other chances too... I can't say that it simply wasn't our day. It was a good lesson for both me and the players, unfortunately a negative one. So we all need to draw conclusions, because we all lost – which means that somewhere we didn't do enough. First and foremost, this applies to the players.
