FC Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Volodymyr Shepelev has told club media about his winter holidays and the first day after vacation.
- I’ve had a good vacation. I was on an island with my parents, then spent three days in Bukovel with friends. On New Year’s Eve I was in Kyiv and then went to Odesa to spend some more time with family. I really missed my teammates and training process. I’m really forward to the second round of the UPL. We must win it.
- How do you create festive mood?
- In Odesa we have a tradition – caroling at neighbors’ and friends’. They knew I would come, so they were waiting for me (smiling). In Kyiv holidays are different.
- What’s your favorite new-year food?
- I like dressed herring, Olivier salad and aspic.
- Was the medical examination usual? Are you nervous before certain procedures?
- I don’t really like blood test and ultrasonography. The rest is fine.
- Whom did you miss the most when on vacation?
- Vitaliy Mykolenko. We wished him luck in our group chat. I’ve already watched him playing. He did a good job.
- Is Mykolenko’s transfer a good motivation for other Ukrainian players?
- Of course it is. One can go abroad if he has aspiration.
- Dynamo will have three winter training camps this season. Are you ready for that?
- I am. I guess we haven’t had three before, but we’ll do our best. I want to regain my best shape and demonstrate decent football. Besides, I want to win the domestic league again. Shakhtar have had impressive transfer campaign, so that won’t be easy, but we’re very motivated.
- What do players think of the return of Vladyslav Dubinchak?
- We used to play for Dynamo U19 and youth team together, so we know him pretty well. He’s a good guy and we’re glad to see him again.
