A Dynamo midfielder shared his expectations for the match against Metalist 1925.
– Yesterday, everyone learned the tragic news – Mircea Lucescu passed away… How did you react to this news?
– It’s very sad because he was a legendary coach. I didn’t get the chance to work with him, since when he was at the club I was still very young but I remember Dynamo’s matches and I admire him greatly. He had a truly legendary coaching career.
– The match against Karpaty was difficult in terms of performance, result and emotions. Has the team already turned the page?
– Of course, we have. If we kept constantly thinking about all unsuccessful matches it wouldn’t be good for us. We’ve already forgotten that game, drew conclusions and analyzed it. We will try not to repeat those mistakes in the match against Metalist 1925.
– What is the team’s mood like ahead of the next match?
– Everyone is in a fighting mood, everyone already wants to play and is eager to win.
– What can you say about the opponent?
– We haven’t analyzed the opponent yet but I know it’s a good team with quality players so it will be a difficult match.
– Metalist 1925 has one of the best defenses in the league – only 12 goals conceded. How difficult will it be to break them down?
– Whether it’s difficult or not, we have to do it – score goals and win.
– Could the standings be a factor that puts psychological pressure on the team since the gap to Metalist 1925 isn’t that big?
– We must get results in every game, win and catch up with leaders.
– Does the disappointing result in the previous match add motivation before the upcoming game?
– Of course. A lot of fans came to that match and created an incredible atmosphere so we really wanted to win but the result didn’t turn out as expected. Our goal was disallowed but that’s already history – now we need to beat Metalist 1925 and improve our record.
