FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu answered journalists’ questions after the win against FC Lviv (1:0) in the UPL matchday 4 game.
- We played against the team that acted aggressively and with great dedication. They were waiting for our mistakes to have a counterattack and score. It was hard to deal with their defense. We dominated, but unfortunately scored only once. I hope this win will give us some positive emotions before the game against AEK.
The problem is that we’re constantly on the road, after every match. Meanwhile opponents are staying at the same place throughout the week. That’s tough. We move from once city to another and don’t have a constant location. To reach Istanbul for the game against Fenerbahce we spent 11 hours on the bus. The following day there was a flight and the bus again. The same was as we were returning.
That’s why it was so hard to win today. We made a lot of mistakes in previous matches that resulted in conceded goals. Besides we were really unlucky. It was important to succeed today.
Besides, the problem is that 5-6 of our players are injured. That impacts team’s mentality too.
For instance, I haven’t been at home for three months already, but tomorrow, after breakfast, we’re leaving for Krakow. Still we don’t complain. That’s our reality. Football is our job, our life and our responsibility.
After the game against AEK in Krakow, players will join their national teams. It will be tough for internationals not to see their families again. When they come back, our trips around Europe and Ukraine will continue.
- You substituted Tymchyk and Vivcharenko with Dubinchak and Karavayev today. Were you unsatisfied with their performance?
- I refreshed our attack as I demand more motion from laterals. Besides, Tymchyk and Karavayev need game practice before international matches.
