Press conference of FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu after the UPL matchday 9 game against FC Vorskla Poltava (1:1).
- We’ve lost points against a very motivated team. That’s what Vorskla lacked in previous games. Every team takes matches against us very seriously, so we must always do the best we can.
We were doing well from the point of view of fitness. But we weren’t focused enough again. There were a lot of inaccurate passes, especially in the midfield.
I can’t blame Karavayev for not hitting the open goal, but this episode demonstrates the lack of concentration. Neshcheret passed to the wing from where the attack started that resulted in goal. These are details every match consists of. We committed a lot of individual mistakes again.
It’s important to get over this state as soon as possible. Players know people expect certain results which makes them even more uptight. Besides we feel the absence of key performers – Bushchan, Zabarnyi and of course Shaparenko.
- What’s your estimation of Justin Lonwijk?
- He did a good job and his progress will continue. This is a young player with decent strike and ability to make correct decisions on the field. He has good future.
- When will Bushchan be back?
- He’s already training individually. Bushchan gives the team confidence. But we can’t risk and let him play too soon. One should be patient. The biggest loss is Shaparenko, who can speed things up, elude opponents, shoot, pass.
- Do you have a striker issue?
- We do. I expect more from Vanat. He has all the necessary qualities and can become a good forward. The thing is that we counted on players we have while under these circumstances we should have reacted and taken Ukrainian players from abroad. That’s what other clubs did.
