Goal and assist by Shaparenko help Ukraine beat Slovakia at the Euro-2024

On Friday, June 21, Ukraine national team played their second Euro-2024 group stage game. Serhii Rebrov’s men faced Slovakia.

Four FC Dynamo Kyiv players were in the Yellow-Blues’ starting lineup: right back Oleksandr Tymchyk, midfielders Volodymyr Brazhko, Mykola Shaparenko and winger Andrii Yarmolenko.

Slovakia started really well and 17 minutes into the game Ivan Schranz headed the ball in after cross from the left side – 0:1.

After that Ukrainians started creating their chances. Tymchyk hit the post from inside the box. Anyway our team equalized in the 54th minute. Zinchenko crossed into the penalty area and Shaparenko hit the corner one-touch – 1:1.

There was still quite enough time to grab the winner and Ukraine did in the 80th minute. Roman Yaremchuk netted the ball after assist from Shaparenko.

On June 26, Ukraine will play the decisive group stage match – against Belgium. Kick-off – 19:00 Kyiv time.
