After the home match against FC Obolon Kyiv (2:0), FC Dynamo Kyiv president Ihor Surkis summarized the first part of the season:
- We’re leaving on vacation feeling we haven’t accomplished everything we wanted. In particular, we haven’t qualified for euro cups although Dynamo had such a goal. On the other hand, we’ve won four games in a row under the charge of Olexandr Shovkovskyi.
Now he’s officially the head coach. He knows how to get the team focused. I hope we’ll do well in the second part of the season and we’ll win the league.
- How did the team react to the appointment of Olexandr Shovkovskyi?
- They’re happy about it. The atmosphere in the team is great. I feel things will be fine after the winter break.
- The game against Obolon was eventful, there were red cards, penalty…
- The game was emotional. It was Obvious Obolon came to play in a draw. This is a kind of football we had in 1990s. It’s hard to deal with such defense.
Personally I don’t like this type of football, I prefer more attacking one, like in the recent game against Metalist 1925.
- What are Dynamo current plans?
- The team will gather on January 12 and will have a medical examination. Then we’ll have a training camp in Turkey that will last till February 15-17.
