FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu has commented upon the win against FC Veres Rivne (3:0).
- Not the best conditions for football. I worried about my players, considering the turf state. Fortunately both sides were careful.
It was hard to maintain possession and balance. By the second half the field got a bit softer and things got easier for us.
It was important not to let Veres cross into our penalty area. If I’m not mistaken, Veres are the third or fourth best team of the league in terms of number of crosses and low crosses into the box. Today we didn’t let them do that a lot.
- What do you think of the episode when Tsyhankov had to take the penalty twice?
- I saw only Veres players entering the penalty area before the shot. I guess VAR interpreted this situation differently. As for me, it’s a fair goal. This isn’t the first time we face that kind of stuff. As we faced Vorskla, they awarded unfair penalty for visitors upon checking VAR. Anyway, VAR also has a room for mistake. It’s a part of football.
- Does Verbic deserve compliments today?
- I shook his hand twice after the game (smiling).
