Midfielder Nazar Voloshyn, who scored Dynamo’s only goal in the 1:1 home draw against Metalist 1925 Kharkiv, shared his thoughts on the match and his emotions after the final whistle.
- Why was it so difficult to play against Metalist 1925, a team near you in the standings and sitting third before the match? What are your overall impressions?
- I feel disappointed because we can’t seem to win in recent matches. We score but it’s not enough - maybe we’re lacking a bit of concentration.
- What happened in the episode when Dynamo conceded the goal?
- Honestly, I don’t remember it clearly - everything happened very fast. I saw their player unmarked, he struck in one touch and scored. We’ll need to review the episode. I don’t know who was at fault.
- Tell us about your goal. Was it something worked out in training or more of an improvisation?
- You could say we practice those combinations in training. Karavaiev made a perfect pass into space and I hit it first time - straight into the net.
- What was the atmosphere like in the dressing room after the game? Was the coach very upset?
- That will stay between us in the dressing room.
- Metalist 1925 didn’t play in the UPL last season. How has this team changed, in your opinion?
- They’re a good quality side with a lot of strong well-prepared players.
- The team is going through a difficult period. How do you handle the pressure and criticism?
- Nothing special - we just keep working, stay focused on winning and overcome challenges through hard work.
- Recently Dynamo were ahead of Shakhtar in the standings but now the rivals have overtaken you. Can you catch up again?
- Yes, the season is long, there are many matches ahead. We’ll see how it goes but we’ll do our best to win and get back on top.
- You’re now heading to the Ukraine national team camp. What are your expectations for the upcoming games?
- Yes, I’m joining the national team. We’ll work hard there to get victories. I haven’t looked closely at our opponents yet - we’ll analyze them once we arrive at the camp.
