Oleksandr Karavayev: “It doesn’t matter where you play – defense or attack – you must be ready”

FC Dynamo Kyiv player Oleksandr Karavayev has commented upon the win against FC Oleksandria (3:0) for FootballHub.

- Both in the first and the second game against Oleksandria coaching work was very vivid. I personally know how Ruslan Rotan and Serhii Kravchenko analyze things. That’s great. They were pressing really well, but we played a bit differently today – rushed behind their backs and got space. Both sides started carefully as no one wanted to lose. But then we scored and it was a crushing blow against them.

- Do you lay emphasis on set pieces practice? Dynamo concede quite a lot after crosses lately…

- I can’t say there’s some special emphasis, but of course we practice that. We couldn’t score after a set piece for about a year, so it was supposed to happen sooner or later.

- This wasn’t the first time you took the field to enforce the attack. Did you have any special instructions from the coach?

- I didn’t. We realize how intense our schedule is. We’ve got 25 players who must be always ready. It doesn’t matter where you play – defense or attack – you must be ready.

- Before the last game Oleksandr Shovkovskyi said it’s very difficult to get the team ready with this schedule. How exhausted are you?

- We’ve got a few more games this year. Of course there’s fatigue, but we’ve got used to such schedule. This impacts players, some get injured, but that’s what we have broad lineup for. It’s tough to be on the road all the time, but we must be thankful for the chance to play. We’re grateful to our Warriors for that.
