FC Dynamo Kyiv halfback Olexandr Karavayev has commented upon the 0:1 defeat against FC Shakhtar Donetsk and resignation of Mircea Lucescu:
- It’s upsetting that Lucescu resigned under such circumstances, after we lost. He really wanted to finish this season, win it. It’s bitter as before this we had better times – we played in the Champions League, won the UPL, Ukrainian Cup, Super Cup. Besides, a lot of youngsters moved to top leagues. But we still have talented youth anyway.
- Did you find out about Lucescu’s resignation after the game, or maybe he warned you in advance?
- We found out after the game. He told us in the locker-room. Tomorrow we’ll have a team meeting and a session. Then we’ll be told who the new coach is.
Did you have any special attitude to the game against Shakhtar?
- When Dynamo face Shakhtar, you don’t need any special motivation. Things were fine in the first half and after the break, but we conceded that unfortunate goal. We had a lot of chances we didn’t use.
- After two defeats there was a draw against Kolos and it seemed things started getting better. What went wrong?
- It seems we do everything properly and create chances, but fail to use those. And then comes some defensive mistake and we concede. There’s nothing we can do but keep working. There’re a lot of games ahead and we must avoid those mistakes.
- What are Dynamo chances in the league table after this defeat?
- We understand everything and know what to do. We possess everything we need. We just need to get ready for upcoming games.
