FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu answered journalists’ questions after the home match against FC Oleksandria.
- After the Cup match you said Vanat was injured, but today he took the field. How bad was that injury?
- He was injured, so we gave him a few days to have rest. He got back to training process two days before this game. Doctors did tests and it turned out he was ready to play.
- This is your third game of the season that ends 4:2. Do you see a certain regularity in this?
- It’s upsetting we concede goals like this, after set pieces, but we win. We both concede and score a lot. We started this game well and did a good job late in the second half, but halfway through the match the team wasn’t acting the way I wanted them to.
The league really lacks supporters at stadiums, who could apply pressure on players. Besides, a lot of Ukrainian top performers have left while UPL currently don’t have high-profile foreigners. All teams are of approximately similar level. That’s why it’s important for us to keep winning.
- Shakhtar aren’t in their best shape which is a chance for Dynamo to take the first place in the league. Does this inspire you?
- It’s not about Shakhtar, we don’t care about that. We must be well prepared for every game and take the field with confidence.
- Do the teams you’ve already faced this UPL season have any players you would like to sign in winter?
- If these teams have decent players, they won’t be willing to let them go. They only can let them join foreign clubs for significant money. It’s hard to sign quality players from other Ukrainian teams. On the other hand, we can enforce other clubs with our trainees. Recently we loaned our Yatsyk and Bol, for instance.
Oleksandria also have a number of Dynamo trainees – Smyrnyi, Shulianskyi, Skorko.
