Press conference of FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu after the UPL matchday 22 game against FC Shakhtar Donetsk (2:2).
- Dynamo couldn’t please fans with proper football in a few games in a row. This time appropriate attitude was visible. Are you satisfied with the match?
- It was a good game. Both sides were focused. We had 7 Dynamo trainees on the field and they did a really good job despite their young age and lack of experience. By the way, I’d like to say, Shakhtar have really talented youth too, who played for Mariupol a few years ago.
Now they’re more experienced and skillful. They also had a good game today. It’s great that Dynamo and Shakhtar youngsters can perform on such level.
Generally, I think 1:1 is a pretty good outcome for this match. Of course we conceded unnecessary goal from distance by Stepanenko, but then managed to equalize.
- Which parts of your game plan your players didn’t fulfill?
- We know what our players are capable of. Unfortunately, we can’t count on some of our more experienced performers. We didn’t lose this one which is also quite good result.
There’s one more thing I would like to say. I’m going on sick leave. As you know, I need a surgery. I trust my doctor, so I’ll have it done in Kyiv. I could do it abroad, but I will stay here to be closer to the team.
Olexandr Shovkovskyi will be preparing the team for upcoming games. I will do the best I can to help him. I hope players will do a good job.
