FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach answered journalists’ questions after the game.
- Congrats to all Dynamo supporters. First of all I want to thank our warriors – the Armed Forces of Ukraine – for the chance to play. As for the game, we’re into the tight schedule including the Europa League and “interesting” logistics we have because of our neighbors. But we have what we have… We’re getting ready. We have a great opportunity to rotate the lineup so that all players were fit and had time to rest herewith.
- What do you think of the debut of Ceballos and Guerrero?
- We’ve congratulated guys on their debut starting lineup game and Ceballos – on his first goal.
As for Ceballos’ injury, so far things look fine, but his still will be examined so that we could exclude any complications.
Of course we will also have Brazhko examined as he’s received a noticeable blow to the chest and we have to rule out any complications.
As for their performance, we’re satisfied with both of them. Practicing with the team is one thing, playing – totally another. Generally I’m satisfied, but of course there’re some aspects we need to improve.
- It seemed the game was totally under your control, but as the score became 2:1 it could all end in a draw or even worse. Does this bother you?
- Of course we want to score three, five, ten… But there are two teams on the field and each aims to oppose another. In the first half Vorskla defended very densely and we didn’t receive the ball between the lines. They were quite aggressive. We were ready for that. I said before the game that there are aspects that fundamentally align the teams before the match – motivation, being charged for the fight, the ability to separate emotions and work for the team’s result.
I have an example in this regard. Maybe you’ve noticed how Shaparenko’s changed. UI understand that it’s his individuality, but we’ve managed to make him direct all his emotions at being as effective as possible. Every team is absolutely motivated when opposing Dynamo. For various reasons.
- Why did both sides make 7 substitutions today?
- When there’s a substitution due to a concussion, doctors tells that to the fourth official who gives the opposing side additional slot. That happened to Vorskla in the first half and that happened to us after the episode involving Ceballos.
