Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret commented on the team’s 2:1 home victory over Kolos Kovalivka in the Ukrainian Premier League.
— In previous match you kept a clean sheet and today you made many saves but still conceded once. Share your thoughts after the game.
— It was a difficult match. Of course, I wanted another clean sheet. I think we completely controlled the game in the first half but in the second half some problems started appearing - I honestly can’t even say exactly why. So we’ll review the game in our analysis sessions and figure out what we did wrong because, honestly, we cannot come out for the second half playing like that.
— After the goal you conceded intrigue returned to the game. It seemed that in the first half you could have killed the game off by making it 3:0. Did the ending at 2:1 become a bit chaotic?
— I don’t know, maybe it looked that way from the outside but we tried to close down spaces because opponent creates chances very well from set pieces and corners. And I think today we handled that more or less successfully. But I’ll repeat once again: we need to be more focused defensively during the game and communicate with each other more. I think then everything will be fine.
— There were more counterattacks in the second half. You often tried to restart play quickly toward Shola or Voloshyn to launch fast attacks. In your opinion what was missing in the finishing?
— Those are situational moments. When you catch the ball and see that all opponents have pushed forward trying to score, leaving open spaces behind them, you have to use it. It’s good that we scored two goals in the first half and didn’t concede more than one. So overall, everything is fine.
