Dynamo defender Taras Mykhavko shared his impressions after the home match against Shakhtar in which “White-Blues” lost 1:2.
– Unfortunately, emotions are negative because we lost. We didn’t convert our chances and conceded from two shots by the opponent.
– Dynamo had several good opportunities: Yatsyk missed, Riznyk saved your shot, there was also Guerrero’s disallowed goal and his dangerous effort that went wide. Didn’t it seem to you that the scoreline didn’t reflect the game?
– Maybe, but as they say, there’s no point arguing after the fact. There’s no sense in talking too much about it because the opponent scored their goals. If I’m not mistaken, they had two shots on our goal, and both were converted. That’s football and nothing can be changed now. We need to keep preparing because there are very important matches ahead.
– Dynamo scored quite early. Did that give the team psychological confidence?
– Of course, it’s nice to score first. It gave us a certain boost. After that the game became more balanced — there wasn’t overly aggressive attacking football from either us or the opponent. In the second half, when we conceded twice, the game became more open. We understood that we needed to score and at least equalize. We had great chances but didn’t take them. That’s why we got this result.
– Before the match many said that Shakhtar didn’t field their strongest lineup and that the result wouldn’t be crucial for them. But it turned out differently?
– I don’t share that opinion. They have very strong players. I don’t know which lineup is considered their main one. All their players are high-level, worth a lot of money and perform well. So I wouldn’t say it was a “second team” against us. In my opinion they have a very high-quality squad overall.
I understand that due to European competitions they have to rotate because they play two matches a week. Maybe that rotation even benefited them. They have enough quality players who can replace each other effectively.
