FC Dynamo Kyiv gaffer Oleksandr Shovkovskyi answered media questions after the win against FC LNZ Cherkasy in the UPL matchday 5 game (1:0):
- Congrats to all Dynamo fans. It was a tough game. Frankly speaking, it expected it to be this way. After the Champions League qualifiers, numerous trips, I was preparing guys for a difficult match against the team that won three games out of four early in the season. Yet we had opportunities to close the match sooner.
- Why was Shaparenko absent to day?
- Unfortunately, he had some problems with the calf muscle and in case of overload Mykola could be out of football for months. So, in order not to complicate the situation, he didn’t play today.
- Valentyn Rubchynskyi made his debut for the team today. What do you think of his performance?
- He’s definitely a very interesting player. His skills give us mobility in the midfield. I’m satisfied with his performance. Valentyn starts understanding his teammates already.
- This was your first home game in Kyiv in a long time. All tickets were sold out. Did you feel emotional about that?
- I shared my emotions on Instagram yesterday when I said “Kyiv, I missed you so much”. We spent 52 days away from Kyiv. This was a tough period caused by war in our country. I want to thank our warriors for the chance to play football.
As I’ve said, we totally realized what kind of a game this one would be. Ten players who don’t join national teams will get three days off now. As for internationals, I hope they’ll do a good job and return without injuries.
- Aren’t Dynamo planning to play home games in Lviv, like Shakhtar, to simplify the logistics in terms of euro cups?
- Dynamo are going to play home games in Kyiv.
- Do you keep searching for another forward, considering that fans aren’t really happy with Vanat?
- We never stop searching.
