FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu answered journalists’ questions after 2:0 win against FC Vorskla Poltava.
- Tough game for us. We scored the early opener and wanted to increase the lead. We had chances, especially in the first 15 minutes when we were fast and aggressive. But then we started making mistakes. Still we totally controlled the game. In the second half we had a lot of opportunities as well. It’s a good experience for our players. We didn’t let Vorskla score although they were quite persistent trying to equalize.
- Brazhko played the whole match for the first time after the transfer of Sydorchuk. What do you think of his performance?
- He’s a really good player. I demand a lot from him. He can alternate the game rhythm by himself, just like other performers. Sydorchuk was a great captain. I’m glad he’s signed a good contract with a Belgian club. We wish him good luck. Shaparenko, Tymchyk and Vivcharenko are also significant losses for us, but today we played a good match.
- Voloshyn played a good one, but you had claims to him. Is that what his substitution is about?
- Yes, he made a number of mistakes, especially in counterattacks. That’s why I substituted him. He had great chances to score, besides he was supposed to elude opponents individually. But that’s not a big deal as he’s still a young player, who keeps learning from his mistakes. He did well in the first half.
- Did Vorskla player deserve a red car for hitting Vanat on the head?
- I believe it’s a red card. That kind of episodes are always a red card on international level.
- Do you know when postponed games will be played?
- We have some time to decide. We’ll definitely play against Metalist 1925 and Zoria this year. As for Veres – a bit later. I’m not sure yet.
