On Saturday, August 17, FC Dynamo Kyiv played the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 3 game. The White-Blues faced FC Karpaty Lviv away, who returned to the UPL this season. One should note that Karpaty had already played two league games before this one. They drew against Veres (0:0) and beak Kryvbas (3:0).
The match started with a trouble for Dynamo as Karpaty scored in their first attack. Ocheretko finished after cross into the box from the right side – 1:0.
Visitors responded with the shot by Pikhalionok – over the bar. Then Kemkin coped with the low cross by Vivcharenko. Eventually Dynamo equalized halfway through the first half. Pikhalionok netted the ball from outside the penalty area.
Later Vanat found Andriyevskyi in a very promising position, but Oleksandr missed. The White-Blues took the game under total control.
Early in the second half home side had a decent attack, but Kyivans’ defense eliminated the danger. Meanwhile Dynamo continued pressing and succeeded quite soon. Vanat got the ball from Shaparenko and hit the far corner – 1:2.
Stenio had an opportunity to equalize by shooting from inside the box, but Bushchan parried. Lviv side got more active and aimed to cause visitors troubles. Dynamo had to work hard to cope with their crosses into the penalty area. Once Karpaty even scored, but the goal was disallowed as Ustymenko was flagged offside.
In a stoppage time Dynamo scored another one. Referee awarded penalty for the foul by Kemkin against Yarmolenko and Andrii converted from the spot.
So, it’s 3:1 for the White-Blues. Dynamo next game is the Champions League qualification play-off round first leg against RB Salzburg that takes place on August 21.
