The final game of the year, against FC Metalist Kharkiv, was special for FC Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Vitaliy Buialskyi as he scored his 10th UPL goal of the season. This is his personal record as he hadn’t scored more than 9 before. Vitaliy has told about his achievement:
- I don’t know what this is about. I guess it’s all together. Probably I’m training more correctly, play closer to attack. Besides, luck is important too.
- Although your position hasn’t changed, it seems you perform more attacking functions.
- It just happens that lately I appear in the penalty area more frequently and have more chances.
- Today you scored a free kick. How did you decide who takes the shot?
- Viktor Tsyhankov said I should try as the position wasn’t really comfortable for him. I aimed at goalkeeper’s corner. Hopefully Shaparenko will be back soon. Then he’ll be doing this. I don’t lay claims on this role and don’t practice free kicks purposefully (smiling).
- You’ve got 10 goals to your name in the first part of the season. Will you keep this up after the winter break?
- I’ve mentioned before that I don’t focus on scoring. Team victory is my priority. I don’t know what happens after the break. One can’t even predict what happens tomorrow. The war is on. If you wake up alive, it’s all that matters.
- Do you remember the seasons when you scored 9?
- Not really, but that wasn’t too long ago. Stability means skills (smiling). The team creates chances, defenders start our attack and halfbacks need to make proper decisions.
- Do you agree that your goals result from improvisation too, not only from team combinations?
- Sure. What we practice at training sessions can hardly be performed as we face opponents, who defend very densely. That’s why we didn’t manage to score in so many games.
- This was the final game of the year. What are your plans for the nearest future?
- I’ll spend the whole vacation in Kyiv. Maybe, on holidays, we’ll visit my parents in Kalynivka.
