The author of the winning goal in the Round 24 National League U19 match against Zorya, Vitalii Lobko, shared his impressions of the game.
– It was a tough match but an important victory. What are your thoughts on today’s game?
– Today we played our football and imposed our style. Guys did great, they gave everything on the pitch, so thanks to them and to coaches. Thanks to everyone.
– In the first round Dynamo drew with Zorya. Did you expect this game to be difficult?
– Yes, of course. We prepare for every match the same way - every game is tough. So we were fully focused against Zorya. We went out and showed character to beat them.
– Zorya doesn’t score many goals but they also don’t concede much. How difficult is it to play against such teams?
– It’s very difficult because they play in a low block so you have to find and open up spaces. We managed to do that, scored a goal and got the win.
– Dynamo had chances to score earlier. What was missing in those moments?
– We had chances but we lacked a bit of finishing. At halftime we regrouped and I, along with some older players, gave a few pieces of advice. Guys listened and we corrected our mistakes.
– You’ve extended your scoring streak in the league. Are you getting used to not leaving the pitch without scoring?
– I think it’s the result of hard work in training. That’s what helps me in matches. I’m grateful to coaches for trusting me and I try to repay that trust.
– How much do your performances in the spring part of the season motivate you? You’re on a very successful run.
– It’s always nice to score because a striker’s job is to score goals. I go onto the pitch, score and feel great. We keep moving forward and aim only for victories.
– In the next round Dynamo will play away against Kryvbas. Are you already thinking about that match or still focused on today’s game?
– I’m still under the impression of today’s match (smiles). We’ll have a day off now and then we’ll start preparing for Kryvbas. It will also be a tough game but that’s normal - all matches are difficult. We go out giving our maximum and play aggressive football.
